My thesis project, Dom & Sub, a.k.a. why I’ve been such a bad tumblr-er/bad friend/etc. My artist statement:

Dom & Sub is a body of illustrative work in digital media that attempts to humanize practitioners of BDSM and offer a representation of kinky sex that not only refutes negative stereotypes but informs the audience that sadomasochistic play is done best between happy, healthy, and consenting adults. I portrayed the couple in the work not only engaging in S&M play but also building a “scene” together and nurturing one another after the play has concluded; these are moments often left unconsidered or completely ignored in visual representations of S&M. I believe it’s important to see how kinky scenes are crafted with care, commitment to safety and enthusiastic consent in order to limit those times when sadomasochistic play is used to abuse or dehumanize other human beings. It is my hope that my audience will learn from the illustrations that sadomasochistic play is not always dark or scary, and that fellow ‘kinksters’ can enjoy tender representations of S&M that do not ridicule or pathologize them. I’ve designed the work to engage sadomasochistic imagery, material and theory with an ethical conscience.

Wolfwood’s Birthday Redux by *JereduLevenin

I desperately wanted to clean ( [link] ) up, so I did. Took about 5 hours or so, but I am MUCH happier with this version!

Wolfwood is finally old enough to drink! Vash can’t help but feel a little depressed at how the years are taking their toll on Wolfwood.

This is set in the Second Chance universe, AKA the same universe as Gunsmoke in Gaia, but AFTER it. Yes, folks, Gunsmoke in Gaia is not the end of the story… even though I’m only about 1/4 of the way done with that. xD

You clean up really well, Jer!! I love what you’ve done to modify the expressions and the body language. It’s more powerful now, I think, than before. And the last panel’s dialogue is also more clear, which is good!

This comic still makes me want to cry everytime I read it TuT

Awww, thanks. You know, I briefly toyed with the idea that because Second Chance happened due to Vash restarting Wolfwood’s heart and fusing with him to heal his body, that it might have actually affected his biochemistry… that would actually allow me to work with his aging process getting yanked in teh OTHER direction.

I believe you once mentioned the possibility that Eye of Michael experimented with Plant biology as the basis for their regeneration. What if fusing with Vash filled in the missing “blanks” for Wolfwood’s makeup? AN AU OF AN AU, THAT’S WHAT. This is horribly tempting, you know. EVEN though I have the Ghost Wolfwood continuation planned out way down the line.

It means all of this gets thrown out the window, of course, but…

I dunno Karaii, which feels are better? The angst or the happy “you found a way to save him!”

I honestly can’t figure out which version to go with now.

OOOOH I see what you did there!! Hmmmmm!!! Good point!

You know, you could always end the “canon” ending of GiG to be that Wolfwood’s funky aging process is fixed and perhaps even made better after Vash fused with him, to give it a positive, satisfying, happy ending type thing wherein Wolfwood and Vash live a long, active and productive life together.

And then, carry on with Ghost!Wolfwood as an alternate ending wherein feels can be prodded and shredded anew. That way, people can end GiG feeling happy, but if they want to continue the feels train, they can just keep reading! Everyone ends up content.

And thus you could draw for whichever version of the ending you like and they’d both be plausible, and people can decide which one they wanna stick with while still being able to enjoy both!

Karaii and I did a collab in Pchat yesterday! I drew Vash, she drew Knives, and then we colored each others’ drawings! It’s from an AU Karaii came up with and then we all hopped on board with it!

Jer and her fantastic poses, and her beautiful colouring *A* A woman worth admiring!! I love how expressive Vash is, both in wings and in limbs. And the colours you chose for Knives are gorgeous. I really like that shade of blue-purple, so intense and beautiful.

We should collab again sometime!!! I’ll draw you some lines and you do the same, and we swap for some photoshop/sai magic, y/y?

Wolfwood still can't believe Vash is an angel. He tries to exorcise him quite often, to Vash's innocent befuddlement.

Wolfwood learns to get along with the feather-brain. Get along pretty well, really.

Knives, a fallen angel, and the antagonist... or is he? He seems to care very much for Vash.

In this AU, Angel Arms are not weapons of destruction, but of creation. To save Vash from his fate as the savior of humanity, Knives cut off his arm before Vash died from using his powers.

Knives and Vash used to be quite tight when they were young. Knives used to dream of humans, and how they'd live peacefully when the chosen one made Gunsmoke habitable. He did not know the cost, yet.

Knives's decay. His wings grow a darker blue when he uses his power, opposite to Vash's deeper red. He had long hair in heaven, but cut it short when he fell to Earth.

Legato is a human capable of wiping memories. To keep Vash from fulfilling his duty as savior of humanity and die from it, Knives has Legato mind-wipe him every couple of years. It pains him greatly.

Livio is a priest alongside Wolfwood, but he is host to a demon called Razlo. He doesn't know Razlo exists, but Wolfwood and the Order of Michael do.

Because he is constantly being mind-wiped Vash is perpetually innocent and childish. Here he is tasting a doughnut for the first time, in combination with alcohol. His clothes are formed by his wings.

Extending from my AU wherein Wolfwood is a priest and Vash is an angel …. which practically exploded since yesterday :D A torrent of AMAZING ideas from my Trigun friends and several hours later, this AU became well-loved and fully formed. I couldn’t be happier!

The AU wherein Wolfwood is a priest that can see supernatural beings, and Vash claims to be an angel, but Wolfwood thinks he’s a demon because no way could a holy creature cause so much fucking havoc, no matter where he goes. Plus, the damn tongari flaps around naked and oblivious like he DOESN’T know he’s temptation incarnate. The hell? A diablo, for sure.

Poor Wolfwood is not having a very good day today. The reason he’s throwing up is that his body is reacting to the plant-guck that went down his throat while inside the plant’s bulb, the hasty de-aging, and the temporary lack of serum that usually keeps him constantly healing. He did fall a considerable height prior to being absorbed by Vash’s sister.
