So this song inspired me some epic apocalyptic settings for this prompt - and Lieutenant (called Liem here; it’s a Vietnamese name meaning “integrity”) is no man to sit and wait for his end to come when the world is crumbling down!
I imagine that Amon sneaked back to the human realm to warn Korra about what was about to happen, thus possessing the mask Lieutenant had been keeping as a bitter memento. He appears wrapped in shredded clothes, damp with blood and water(as you’d expect from someone who blown up on a fucking boat).
Maybe he seeks redemption, maybe he just sticks around to see how far will Liem go this time. I’ll let you decide on that :-D
